Introduction
Ridhimaliyadda village was named as “Yotawa” in the past.
Gayam Lake was situated in the land of Ridhimaliyadda Vidya , and the place where the dam of the lake was broken in that river was named Yotawa. In the
same area, three or four Prabhu Wuls
are employed as the chiefs of that work. Arachchi Yakayanaku is
a very fair solution to any disputes, disputes, etc.
At that time, the village council court was located at Uraniya, Gayamhi Junction.
Arachchi and Arachchi assistants have been appointed for the village council , and the village council
has carried out the medical activities of the village by taking human contribution. The village council was very
fond of the village of Arachchi, and the people of the village at that time also loved it.
Around the year 1954, Mr. Visu Pitawe, the lord of Yotawa Gayam,
donated the land where the regional council public library is located to the village council
.
In the year 1965, the school that came to Ridhimaliyadda Vidyalaya
worked hard to improve the education of children during the Yarra Maya period, and as a result, in 1972, for
the first time in the history of Ridhimaliyadda, the largest group of children
qualified for higher education with one female teacher.
In the year 1973, the Village Council
, which took the initiative to provide literacy and numerology education to the village of Yotawa, decided that the
qualified students would be required to take advanced studies in Ridhimaliyadda
etc
Yamama Pustaka has been started with a collection of 100 pieces . According to the index given by them for the collection of books, there is also Ridhi Shasiya book which
covers the subjects of geography, lions, Buddhist culture, economics
and the only novel, Bedyadgama.
In the year 1973, when the Ridhimaliyadda public library was established,
it was used as its counterpart and
for the first time in the history of the Ridhimaliyadda school, which was named Yotava at that time, one of the 09 ministers was appointed to the university. Mr. W. M. Gunawardena was
the first librarian of the Prayadsiya Sabha Public Library where healing methods were developed. On 20.09.1980 , when the Ridhimaliyadda public library was started once again with a new look . From that time to today, the systems have developed and now the sum of Yamahi Sinhe, Yadama, English language teachers etc. has grown to 7000 and 1300 readers. , LIBRARY MEMBER RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE
PUBLIC LIBRARY - Ridhimaliyadda Pradeshya Sabha
1. Applicants must be a permanent resident of Ridhimaliyadda Pradeshya Sabha area.
2. Child membership is available for children under 18 years of age, and
the membership fee for child membership is Rs. 100.00
3. Adult membership is available for those above 18 years of age, and
the membership fee for adult membership is Rs. 150.00.
4. All applications must be signed by a taxpayer to the local council. 5. Membership application for child members must be
certified by the principal of the school where the student is studying . 6. Membership application for adult readers must be certified by a qualified person mentioned therein. 7. The library membership will be available after submitting the duly completed application form to the library. 8. Books in the reference section are not allowed to be taken out, whereas books in the disposal section and children's section are allowed to be taken out for 14 days. 9. Books to be removed must be returned on the due date, after which a late fee of Rs.5.00 per day will be charged for each day of delay . 10. In case of loss of a book which is disposed of by a member, that member must pay the same book or / the value of the book / fines and other related charges. 11. If you do not visit the library for a continuous period of 06 months, the membership will be cancelled. Then you have to pay the relevant fees and renew the membership again. 14. Members of the library can participate in competitions organized by the library to get prizes and certificates / get information about ancient and important places in the area and participate in all the programs organized by the library . Legal regulations for disposal of books Public Library - Ridhimaliyadda Pradeshiya Sabha 1. When removing a book, one must appear in person. Books cannot be obtained through an agent . 2. One reader can get two (02) books at the same time from the disposal section and the children's section , and must be returned to the library within 14 days. Depending on the demand for the books , the time allowed to keep the books away may be limited. 3. Books should be returned on or before the date mentioned in the return date register. For every day after that date Rs. A late fee of 05.00 each will be charged. 4. The book may be returned by an agent for acceptable special reasons. All the responsibilities belong to the member. 5. When ready to dispose of the books, the relevant book should be carefully looked after. If you see any damage or loss of the book, you should inform the library staff immediately.
6. The reader must bear all responsibility for the books during the period of the reader's custody.
7. In case of any damage or misplacement of the book during the period of the reader's custody,
a surcharge of 28.75% of the current value of the relevant book and government fees
shall be paid to Ridhimaliyadda Praedeshiya Sabha Public Library.
8. In case of non-delivery of the book taken by the reader or damage to them or any other fraudulent
act,
the membership of the reader may be revoked by Ridimaliyadda Pradeshya Sabha Public Library, and if necessary, legal action
may be taken.
9. It is the duty of the reader to provide assistance to the library staff at all times to render effective service to the reader
.
10. It will be the responsibility of the reader to obey, respect and follow the instructions of the library staff.
